The Andon association, a dynamic player in Breton and Gallo culture in the country of Questembert, is offering a weekend full of cultural events celebrating Breton and Gallo languages as part of the Month of Brittany Languages, from March 6 to 8, 2026. Within this framework, the association is hosting a special screening at the Iris Cinéma. Two films in regional languages will be offered: “Nous serons toujours là, Plogoff”, on Friday, March 6, at 8:15 pm, a historical drama in Breton with French subtitles, followed by a discussion with director Nicolas Guillou. “Le chant de la mer”, will be screened on Friday, March 13, at 8:15 pm. It is a family and poetic fable in Gallo. The prices are the same as usual for the cinema.

On Saturday, March 7, Andon is offering an immersive day around singing in Breton at the Alan Meur hall. “We are still taking registrations,” emphasizes Jérémie Robin, president of the association. Led by Élodie Jaffré and Maude Madec, this workshop is for all enthusiasts, beginners, or experienced practitioners, eager to discover or deepen the traditional songs of the Vannes region. From 10 am to 4 pm, registration is mandatory. Prices: €20, €15 (members), €10 (under 12). Access to the fest-deiz the next day is included.

Sunday, March 8, is dedicated to Kan ar Bobl & fest-deiz. Starting at 2 pm, Andon is organizing the local selections of the Kan ar Bobl contest at the Asphodèle, the famous contest of Breton, Gallo, and French traditional songs and music, which has kept the oral tradition of the “people’s song” alive since 1973. The jury consists of Maude Madec, Enora de Parscau, Vincent Bothua, and Matthieu Bloyet.

At the same time, a fest-deiz animated by An Amaturien, Stal Kan Kistreberzh, and the Picard group Grain de Celte will make the audience dance all afternoon. “Due to the current international situation, Ayoul Tad ha Mab, one of our musicians also scheduled, is stuck in Asia, in Bangkok. We are looking for another musician to replace him. The rest of the lineup is maintained,” assures Thierry Jolivet, vice-president of the association.
