Nikola Jokić leads the league with a career-high 10.3 assists per game. This season, Jamal Murray has assisted Jokić 127 times, making them the top passing-and-scoring duo in the NBA.

Despite missing 16 games, Jokić has been assisted 16 more times by Murray (127) than any other player by a single teammate. The three-time Kia MVP has also assisted Murray 101 times.

The Nuggets have the league’s number one offense, but their season has been underwhelming due to defensive struggles. They haven’t won consecutive games since January.

Murray and Jokić, teammates for nine seasons, have fostered strong chemistry. The duo averages 6.8 assists per 36 minutes on the court, their best in their tenure with the Nuggets.

Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid, though not frequent floor partners, have shown strong synergy when playing together. Maxey’s 90 assists to Embiid translate to 3.9 per 36 minutes, the highest rate among numerous player combinations.

Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun have showcased mutual effectiveness, with 80 assists from Sengun to Durant and 63 in return, at a rate of 4.1 per 36 minutes on the court together.

While Murray and Jokić’s longstanding partnership distinguishes them, other combinations with at least 50 assists to each other show promise, including newcomers Durant and Sengun, Ingram and Quickley, and DeRozan and Westbrook.

Durant and Sengun, despite fewer pick-and-rolls compared to Murray and Jokić, exhibit robust chemistry, generating assists through isolations where they draw defensive attention.

The Rockets have won seven of their last 10 games, positioning them third in the Western Conference. They face a taxing schedule, starting with a clash against the Warriors on Thursday.
