Other notable nominees include “Adolescence,” “Andor,” and “Dying for Sex.” These nominations span various categories like arts, entertainment, and children’s/youth programming.
“Heated Rivalry” gained recognition for its portrayal of a queer hockey drama on HBO Max, while “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” faced a brief suspension due to controversial comments. The Peabody Awards aim to honor impactful storytelling across broadcast and streaming media, with nominees selected by a panel of 28 jurors.
The winners of the Peabody Awards will be revealed on April 23, with a celebration scheduled for May 31 in Los Angeles. In addition to competitive awards, the Peabodys are set to honor Amy Poehler, Sterlin Harjo, James L. Brooks, and PBS Kids for their contributions to the industry.
According to Peabody executive director Jeffrey Jones, the nominated shows reflect important issues of our time, challenging audiences to engage more deeply. The list of nominees includes a diverse range of programs like “Adolescence,” “Andor,” “Death by Lightning,” and “Mussolini: Son of the Century,” showcasing a variety of compelling storytelling.
