Bo Horvat was honored with the 2026 Bob Nystrom Award, given to the New York Islanders player who best demonstrates leadership, dedication, and hustle, as chosen by fans of the team.
This is the first time Horvat has won the Bob Nystrom Award. He was traded from the Vancouver Canucks to the Islanders on Jan. 30, 2023, and is now in his third full season with the team, serving as an alternate captain since the 2024-25 season.
The 30-year-old center achieved his fourth 30-goal season this year. With 196 points (98 goals, 98 assists), Horvat leads the Islanders in scoring since his arrival, playing 256 games with the team. In the current season, he ranks third on the team with 55 points (30 goals, 25 assists) and has accumulated 232 hits, 145 blocked shots, and 85 takeaways during his time on Long Island.
Horvat also represented Team Canada at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, where he won a silver medal.
