Dense cultural programming, loyal audience, and new artistic events set the pace of life at Espace Gibert this spring.
Espace Gibert is one of the cultural venues highly valued by the locals, for a long time. It attracts residents of Lézignan-Corbières and Minervois, as well as art, music, and history enthusiasts from all over, who don’t hesitate to travel to attend the association’s offerings.
With a strong annual program consisting of exhibitions, concerts, and lectures, its passionate team continuously enriches its free events, except for classical concerts. The entry fee for classical concerts is 5€, deliberately kept low but necessary to continue hosting high-quality professional performances.
The audience clearly appreciates this, as they are always present, often filling up the venue. This was evident on Friday, April 4, with the performance by the duo Nuances, featuring accordionist Jérémy Buriette, who is a world champion on his instrument, alongside his partner Clémence Buriette on piano, vocals, and cello.
They delivered a highly acclaimed performance playing popular classics and music from well-known films, encouraging a musical blind test. The audience was captivated by the interactive concert and applauded the couple’s warm inspiration.
Vernissage this Friday, April 10
Currently, the Gibert association is gearing up for their next event, the vernissage of their new exhibition, scheduled for Friday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m., with the presence of five invited artists showcasing a blend of genres: Jean-Michel Poirot (painting), Mia Gardel (sculpture), Thomas Faure (drawing), France Brel (photography), and the Carcassonne philatelic association.
As with every vernissage, the old winemaker’s house on Boulevard Dormoy will also feature a winemaker presenting their wines, the Fabre family from Château de Luc. The exhibition will be open to the public during Espace Gibert’s opening hours until May 13. Also of note is the association’s general assembly on Wednesday, April 15 at 6 p.m., as well as two lectures on Fridays, April 17 (art history) and April 24 (civilization history), at 6:30 p.m. (free entry).
