Virginia Tech received recognition both nationally and internationally for its high rankings in the latest reports from U.S. News & World Report and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
According to U.S. News & World Report, Virginia Tech excelled in engineering, veterinary medicine, earth sciences, and part-time MBA graduate programs. The College of Engineering’s graduate programs were ranked highly, with the Department of Computer Science ranked at No. 34.
The university’s veterinary medicine programs were ranked No. 18 nationally, the highest ranking in the report. Virginia Tech’s graduate programs in earth sciences were also highly regarded, earning a No. 25 ranking nationally.
Additionally, Virginia Tech’s part-time Evening MBA program saw a significant increase in rankings, tied for No. 33 nationally. The university’s graduate programs in computer science and computer engineering were based in Academic Building One in Alexandria.
QS also released its World University Rankings by Subject, where Virginia Tech ranked No. 112 globally in engineering and technology. The university excelled in narrow subjects such as mining engineering, electrical engineering, agriculture, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, hospitality and leisure management, and veterinary science.
