Claims and rumors regarding the health of US President Donald Trump once again caused a stir on social media over the weekend. On Sunday, “Trump is dead” trended after posts on the platform X claimed that the President had been hospitalized. However, the White House dismissed these as “insane conspiracy theories” from “deranged liberals.”
The speculation rose after the White House declared a “press lid,” indicating no public appearances would be made. While this was initially due to a search-and-rescue operation for a missing US airman in Iran (who was later rescued), many assumed it was due to a major change in the President’s health.
White House’s official communications account, Rapid Responses 47, addressed the speculation. They stated, “Deranged liberals cook up insane conspiracy theories when @POTUS goes 12 hours without speaking to the press. Fear not! President Trump literally never stops working.”
Despite ongoing speculation, Trump later posted on Truth Social about the US military rescue operation in Iran. This is not the first time rumors about Trump’s health have circulated. Previously, a bruise on his hand sparked rumors about his health, which he attributed to aspirin and blood thinners, affirming that his health was “perfect.”
Last year, concerns arose due to observed “swelling” in Trump’s legs, with the White House clarifying a diagnosis of “chronic venous insufficiency.” Additionally, the discoloration on his hand was ascribed to “tissue irritation from frequent handshaking” and the use of aspirin in a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
