Joint security troops successfully stopped a terrorist attack on ECWA Church in Ariko Village, located in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State. During the Easter service, they rescued 31 hostages. TVC News reported that the troops acted promptly upon receiving a distress call about the abduction of worshippers. With the guidance of Ariko community members, they chased the fleeing terrorists and engaged in a fierce gun battle. According to authorities, the troops’ superior firepower overwhelmed the attackers, causing them to abandon the 31 hostages. Unfortunately, five people were found dead at the scene, presumably killed by the terrorists. Blood trails indicated that the attackers also suffered significant casualties as they escaped.
One of the rescued victims sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. Efforts to pursue the remaining terrorists, locate any potential captives, and bring the perpetrators to justice are being intensified by the troops. Additional troops have been dispatched to reinforce security in the area and prevent future attacks. The Nigerian Army reiterates its commitment to safeguarding citizens and emphasizes its collaboration with other security agencies and local communities to uphold lasting peace. The public is encouraged to continue providing timely and reliable information to the security forces.
