China and Pakistan Call for Immediate End to Middle East War

  • China and Pakistan are urging for an immediate end to the war in the Middle East with a multi-point plan.
  • Islamabad positions itself as a central player in the conflict negotiations.
  • Colonel Peer de Jong provides his analysis of the situation on LCI.

The maneuvering of Pakistan? The country now holds a mediator role in the Middle East war, a month after the conflict began. Pakistan’s role is significant due to its ability to engage with Iran as well as the United States.

On LCI, Colonel Peer de Jong discusses the ties between Islamabad and Washington. “General Munir, the head of Pakistan, was trained in the United States. As a result, he is very close to Donald Trump,” explains the specialist. Pakistan and China jointly issued a call on Tuesday, March 31, to end the conflict, presenting a multi-point plan that includes a ceasefire and the restoration of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Colonel Peer de Jong, Pakistan could provide assistance to the United States. “This is a backup and exit strategy for Americans. They are maintaining the five-six week tempo that Trump set at the beginning of the war. We are now in the fourth week, there are two weeks left,” emphasizes the LCI consultant.
