At 72, the Barcelona-born musician, adopted Nîmois, released his seventh album, Rockumbero, on February 27. An intimate and particularly successful record where he shares his experience and claims an analogical and digital dichotomy, driven by rhythms rooted in rumba, rock tension, and a hoarse voice.

Situated in downtown Nîmes since 1995, near Place Montcalm, Andres Roé has set up his studio in a former industrial butcher shop. On the first floor, in the old refrigerators with their heavy doors, he meticulously crafted Rockumbero. The album’s title is also a self-portrait: rock and rumbero. Rumbero, the one who lives the rumba; rock, as an evidence. A duality, but also a link between the two.

Roé returns to the stage with this unique blend of French chanson, rock, and Latin rhythms. The most French of Barcelona residents has performed on major stages (Eurockéennes, Printemps de Bourges, Olympia) and toured in Japan, Brazil, the United States, Canada, and Europe.
