IndiGo announces expansion of domestic routes from Navi Mumbai airport

IndiGo is stepping up its domestic expansion with the addition of more than 30 new routes from Navi Mumbai International Airport, alongside the launch of direct flights to Bhavnagar.

The new routes, rolled out between late March and April, will link Navi Mumbai with a mix of metro and tier-2 cities such as Agra, Ayodhya, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Patna, Srinagar and Visakhapatnam, among others. The expansion is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity through the new airport.

With these additions, IndiGo plans to operate over 400 weekly departures from Navi Mumbai, positioning the airport as a key hub in its network.

As part of its Gujarat expansion, the airline has also started twice-daily direct services between Bhavnagar and Navi Mumbai using ATR aircraft. The move is aimed at improving air access to smaller cities and strengthening last-mile connectivity.

The airline has also outlined further additions in the state, including the launch of flights to Jamnagar. With these routes, IndiGo will connect six cities in Gujarat – including Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat – operating more than 1,400 weekly services to and from the state.

The rollout includes a mix of daily and non-daily flights, with additional destinations such as Kannur, Jammu and Bareilly being added in phases through early April.

InterGlobe Aviation, which operates IndiGo, currently runs a fleet of over 400 aircraft and operates more than 2,200 flights daily across domestic and international routes. The airline carried over 120 million passengers in 2025, reflecting strong demand in the domestic aviation market.

Despite the expansion push, shares of InterGlobe Aviation have seen some pressure recently, declining over the past month ahead of the route announcements.
