Serge Gallardo, 63, has taken over as the new head of culture in the municipal executive of Vienne, replacing Patrick Curtaud, who had long personified culture at the town hall.
A former student of the Beaux-Arts, Gallardo graduated from the Beaux-Arts in Lyon and spent his entire career as an artistic director at DDB Nouveau Monde, the leading communication agency in Lyon. In his free time, he enjoys painting, starting with textile and advertising design before transitioning to painting.
Described as curious, open, and inspiring by his colleagues, Gallardo’s selection as the 9th deputy reflects his professional experience and broad worldview. His primary focus is on expanding cultural offerings to the city’s 150,000 residents, emphasizing the importance of culture in society.
Gallardo aims to continue supporting local bookstores, associations, and artists as a shared community asset. He plans to further promote culture in the city’s four social centers and is eager to explore Vienne’s cultural landscape to ensure inclusivity for all residents. Additional adjustments will be made as necessary, with Gallardo expressing his readiness to embrace new experiences in the cultural sphere.
