BYU Womens Basketball Headlines Busy Week in BYU Sports

    It’s going to be a busy upcoming week for BYU athletics. The women’s basketball team is in the WBIT semifinals, which will be a highlight in a week filled with activities across multiple sports.

    Women’s Basketball

    The women’s basketball team is making history by playing in a postseason semifinal for the first time. Led by first-year head coach Lee Cummard, the Cougars will face off against Big 12 opponent Kansas in the WBIT semifinals.

    The game will be held in Witchita, Kansas, so the Jayhawks can expect some local fan support.

    Football Spring Camp

    The BYU football program is wrapping up its final week of Spring Camp. The Cougars will end camp with the annual alumni game and resume practice on Tuesday.

    Baseball

    BYU baseball had an eventful week with two walk-off home runs against Oklahoma State. This week, they aim to improve their standings in the Big 12 as they play against Kansas State and Baylor. The team will host Kansas State before heading to Waco for a three-game series against Baylor.

    BYU pulled off an impressive comeback against Oklahoma State with a walk-off win on Thursday night, followed by another comeback win on Saturday ending with a walk-off home run.

    Softball

    Last week, the softball team also had a walk-off home run and will now face the top team in the Big 12 and the no. 2 team nationally, Texas Tech.

    Men’s Volleyball

    The BYU men’s volleyball team is regrouping after back-to-back losses to Pepperdine. They will be playing Vanguard in Costa Mesa, California this week.

    Tennis

    Both BYU men’s and women’s tennis teams will have matches this week. The men’s team will be in Texas to play against TCU on Thursday and Baylor on Saturday.

    The women’s tennis team will also compete at TCU on Thursday and Baylor on Saturday.

    Track & Field

    Women’s track and field will compete against UVU on Thursday, followed by matches against USC on Friday and Saturday.

    BYU men’s track and field will also face UVU on Thursday and USC over the weekend.

    Gymnastics

    The BYU women’s gymnastics team will participate in the NCAA regionals against Georgia, Michigan State, and SUU. The meet will be held in Tempe, Arizona.
