In a productive visit for Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president declared on Saturday, March 28, during a trip to the Middle East, that the agreements he had signed with Gulf countries during a tour in the region envisioned a “cooperation over ten years” in the defense sector, as well as the establishment of joint production chains.

“We are talking about a 10-year cooperation. We have already signed an agreement to this effect with Saudi Arabia, we have just signed a similar agreement with Qatar, also for 10 years, and we will sign one with the Emirates,” Mr. Zelensky told journalists, including AFP, at a press briefing.
“During these ten years, we have committed to building factories in both countries, with production chains in Ukraine and in these countries” (Gulf countries, editor’s note), he added.
Specifically, the defense agreement between Qatar and Ukraine includes “collaboration in technological areas, the development of joint investments, and the exchange of expertise in missile defense and unmanned aerial systems,” clarified the Qatari ministry.
