The third edition of “Culture Clash” took place on Friday evening at Seine Musicale. Nearly 3,000 people attended the major general knowledge competition between internet stars and TV game show champions, also broadcast on Twitch. Who succeeded Émilien and ZoratoR in the rankings? Stay tuned for the report.

At the tip of Seguin island, a line began to form from midday in front of the entrance of Seine Musicale on Friday, March 27 in Boulogne-Billancourt. Almost eight hours before the show’s start. “We’re here because it’s fun and there are streamers we love,” said Ami, 18. This is the cost to secure a front-row seat at “Culture Clash.” “And there are duets we don’t often see together,” added Neela, mentioning newcomer Bigflo. We’ll revisit him later.

Just ahead, a couple from Rennes, quiz enthusiasts, proudly displayed their Breton flag. “I even participated in the show ‘Les 12 Coups de midi’,” boasted Kerri, a member of the local “Questions pour un champion” club, like Alexis. Having been present at the first two editions of “Culture Clash,” they couldn’t miss the third cultural G show, bringing together internet stars and TV game legends.

A streamer is behind this project, co-created in 2024 with ZQSD Productions: Etoiles. “I love quizzes, I love streaming, but these two worlds don’t often meet,” explains the video creator with 1.3 million Twitch subscribers. “And I thought it would be fun to show that culture can also be a mix of basic questions, some more internet-related, or video games, and thus ‘Culture Clash’ was born.”

And don’t tell Valerie and Fabrice that this is only for the young. These two Belgians came from their country with their daughter Chloe, a fan of Etoiles on Twitch, after following the first two editions online. “You have to be open, and these general knowledge streams are often family-friendly. It forms a blend that works well,” assures Valerie. “It’s a great opportunity to experience this in person,” rejoices Fabrice, a fan of the show “Les 12 Coups de midi.”
