    LUMIO – Who will make the best fiadone in 2026?

    The honey hunters association is organizing the 8th edition of the best fiadone competition on Sunday, March 29, starting at 12 p.m. at the town hall multipurpose hall in Lumio. A meal to benefit the sanctuary for our four-legged friends is also on the agenda. Last year, the culinary challenge crowned Guillaume Revol, a caterer in Calvi, who raised over 5,000 euros for the canine sanctuary.

    BASTIA – 39th British Cinema Fortnight at the Studio

    While Spain is celebrated in Ajaccio, the 39th British Cinema Fortnight is ongoing at the Studio in Bastia until April 7. It’s a chance to catch up on the best British films of the year, with one Irish film included as well. The program features “Christy and his brother” by Brendan Canty and “Hamnet” by Chloé Zhao. The latter is a powerful work starring Jessie Buckley, winner of the Academy Award for Best Actress.

    PRUNELLI DI FIUMORBU – Carnival on the theme of the Far West

    The town of Prunelli di Fium’Orbu is organizing its carnival on Sunday, March 29, at Piazza di a Nazione in Migliacciaru with a Far West theme. From 2 p.m., an afternoon of cowboys and Indians with animations from Corsican Country Club at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., followed by a mini-dance at 6 p.m. Activities throughout the afternoon include carriage rides, inflatables, mascots, face painting, games, and food stands.

    MONTICELLO – Saleccia Park now open to the public

    In the 1950s, an abandoned agricultural property was destroyed by fire, and in the 1980s, it was transformed into Saleccia Park in Monticello. Covering 7 hectares with 5 landscaped, the park was recognized in 2024 in the show “Favorite Monument of the French” and reopens on Wednesday, April 1. A unique attraction in Upper Corsica suitable for family walks and various activities for children and adults.

    BASTIA – Bird watching at Parc du Fango

    In partnership with the Corsican Nature Reserve, the city of Bastia is organizing two free days dedicated to bird watching at Parc du Fango on March 28 (and April 4 at Jardin Pecunia). Activities include learning about local species, identification, and the importance of nesting boxes to promote urban biodiversity. Guided tours and crafting workshops for bird feeders will also be available.
