These shared opinions, beyond personal perspectives, also helped outline important directions for the future of diplomacy.Mrs. Pham Trang Nha from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed her honor in representing the youth and candidly shared the vision of the young generation as the country enters an era of progress. Mrs. Pham Trang Nha stated, “Today, foreign relations are no longer a support area but have become a strategic pillar, playing a leading role in protecting national interests. In this perspective, young diplomats are the driving force actively participating in and contributing directly to the implementation of foreign policy missions in the three dimensions: political, economic, and cultural.”Young officials are increasingly aware of their responsibilities in protecting sovereignty, promoting integration, and enhancing the nation’s reputation internationally. However, this awareness is accompanied by strong pressure on their professional skills, political sense, and ability to adapt quickly to a constantly evolving global environment.Mr. Duc Anh, an official from the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said: “The workload in the sector is increasing rapidly, while the opportunities for young officials to directly participate in managing concrete situations, especially by working with external partners, remain limited.” Consequently, according to Mr. Duc Anh, many competent and well-trained young officers do not have the necessary conditions to “take action” due to inadequate assignment mechanisms or sufficient autonomy. This unintentionally hinders the training of the next generation of leaders. Faced with this situation, he suggests that unit leaders assign missions boldly and create stimulating opportunities for young officers. Although mistakes may occur initially, it is through these practical experiences that they will progress faster, acquire professional skills, and become autonomous in their work.Mrs. Tran Thu Thuy, a lecturer at the Faculty of Communication and Foreign Culture of the Diplomatic Academy, emphasized: “Young diplomats not only represent the next generation, but they must also be placed in positions that allow them to directly participate in sector innovation.”Drawing on her teaching and research experience, Mrs. Tran Thu Thuy formulated three concrete proposals: establish a network of young diplomats as a driver of modern diplomacy, particularly in a context where information has become a determining factor in policy efficiency; set up content creation groups on foreign affairs, leveraging the skills of young people in foreign languages, technologies, and media to quickly produce multilingual content; combine training and practice through local models of foreign business to help young people participate directly in solving specific problems in the field.A message for the young generationDuring this exchange, a notable question posed by the representative of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Le Hoai Trung, was: What is the “hard-earned lesson” or the decisive moment that forges the character of a diplomat? In response to this question, Minister Le Hoai Trung highlighted two essential elements: firstly, an unwavering commitment to long-term goals and the country’s foreign policy. In a complex international context, diplomats must have unwavering faith in strategic direction to make appropriate decisions. Secondly, the strength of character, forged by experience and trials. According to the minister, in the most difficult moments, what allows diplomats to keep their composure is the awareness of being supported by the entire nation and its people, empowered by their history and traditions. This message, in addition to its guiding role, is a profound message for the young generation: diplomatic character strength is not innate but the result of training, dedication, and constant self-transcendence.The dialogue is over, but the raised questions remain open. From awareness to action, from proposals to their implementation, everything converges toward a common goal: to train a generation of highly qualified, resilient, adaptable, and proactive young diplomats.Source: https://baotintuc.vn/thoi-su/tu-trai-nghiem-ca-nhan-den-thong-diep-cho-the-he-tre-20260326182656741.htm
