The initiative “Fostering the Future Together” aims to improve the well-being of children and promote their empowerment in the digital age through education, innovation, and technology.
At the beginning of the summit, punctuated by a welcoming speech from a humanitarian, Melania Trump delivered an address emphasizing the importance of empowering children through technology and education in a rapidly transforming world, particularly with the advancement of Artificial Intelligence. She called on all partner countries and institutions to take concrete initiatives following this inaugural summit.
In this context, she advocated for regional meetings, collaboration with the private sector, facilitating access to technology for those in need, implementing innovative legislation to protect children, and strengthening cooperation among member countries.
During her intervention at the meeting, Princess Lalla Hasnaa stated that Morocco appreciates the visionary leadership of the First Lady of the United States in launching this significant coalition. She highlighted that Morocco is honored to participate in the coalition, reflecting a common vision.
“The preparation of our children for the digital age is not only a national duty but also a shared global responsibility,” the Princess affirmed. She added, “We must act together now, or the gap between technology beneficiaries and those left behind will only widen.”
In this regard, Princess Lalla Hasnaa emphasized that technology should promote people’s empowerment and reduce inequalities rather than exacerbate them.
Furthermore, Morocco is committed within the “Fostering the Future Together” coalition to expanding and strengthening existing national platforms for digital protection and developing national programs for digital literacy and inclusion.
The summit, marked by the presence of representatives from around forty countries and several leading American technology companies, provided an opportunity to showcase national commitments and launch formal cooperation within the framework of this Coalition.
The meeting was notably characterized by speeches from Brigitte Macron (France), Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif Al Nahyan (United Arab Emirates), Marta Nawrocka (Poland), Maricel Cohen de Mulino (Panama), Fatima Maada (Sierra Leone), and Gertrude Mutharika (Malawi).
At the end of the high-level meeting, Princess Lalla Hasnaa posed for a commemorative photo with the First Lady of the United States and a family photo with delegation heads.
Princess Lalla Hasnaa then attended a reception hosted at the White House by Melania Trump in honor of the invited guests.
