In an interview, Minister Le Hoai Trung elaborated on the significance and outcomes of Secretary General To Lam’s participation in the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council in Gaza.

The visit by Secretary General To Lam and the high-level Vietnamese delegation to attend the opening meeting of the Peace Council on the Gaza Strip marks a major multilateral and international diplomatic activity by the Party and the State at the highest level since the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

This important foreign policy activity represents a milestone in implementing the independent, self-reliant, peace-loving, friendly, cooperative, and development-oriented foreign policy, as well as the foreign policy of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with the aim of making positive and responsible contributions to peace, cooperation, sustainable development, as well as the resolution of common regional and international issues.

During the visit, Secretary General To Lam exchanged views on Vietnam’s stance on the Middle East peace process and the Palestinian issue, emphasizing the Vietnamese people’s perspective as a nation that has endured sacrifices and losses due to war, always striving for peace.

The international and local press highly praised Vietnam’s participation in the Peace Council in Gaza and Secretary General To Lam’s role as the head of the high-level delegation of the Party and State at the meeting. Public opinion views Vietnam’s participation as a reflection of its foreign policy to contribute to global peace and development.

Secretary General Lam affirmed Vietnam’s commitment to concrete contributions, including participating in peacekeeping operations to ensure stability in Gaza and engaging in humanitarian relief and post-conflict reconstruction activities.
