The organizers of the Lille-Hardelot cycling tour announced the participation of former Belgian international and LOSC player Eden Hazard on June 7, 2026. Having retired from football in the summer of 2023, the footballer has swapped the soccer ball for a bike since the end of his professional career.

Cyclists in the Lille-Hardelot cycling tour will be sharing the road with a football star. In a statement released on May 22, 2026, the organizers of the now famous cycling tour announced the participation of Eden Hazard, former Belgian international and LOSC player, on June 7.

“There are sporting trajectories that never really end. They simply change fields,” says the statement. Retiring from football fields in the summer of 2023, Eden Hazard has not abandoned his passion for sports. He has found a new challenge in cycling.

At the start of the Mallorca 312 cycling race in Spain in April 2025, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid player announced a “next challenge” in cycling on April 1st on his Instagram page. The former LOSC player and winner of the Coupe de France in 2011 is announced “with family and for pleasure” at this new edition of Lille-Hardelot sponsored by former professional cyclist Yoann Offredo.

Eden Hazard will cover the 168 km route through the region, starting at Champ de Mars in Lille before reaching the finish line in Hardelot. A prestigious surprise guest for this local sporting event that has become a fixture in the region and experiences annual success. The 7500 bibs were snapped up in a matter of minutes during registration in January.
