Emmanuel Macron reassures the youth through an Instagram message
On Tuesday, March 3, Emmanuel Macron addressed the French people in a speech dedicated to the war in the Middle East, live from his office at the Elysee Palace. The President of the Republic announced a significant reinforcement of French military presence in the region, including the deployment of the Charles-de-Gaulle and additional defense resources to protect French nationals and support France’s allies. This speech, however, seems to have caused a lot of concern, especially among the younger population. On social media, the head of state received several messages on the subject, including a voice message from a young French girl named Fatima. Two days later, on Thursday, Emmanuel Macron chose to share the exchange he had with the teenager on Instagram, revealing his response aimed at reassuring the youth amid current geopolitical tensions.
In her voice message, Fatima expressed her anxiety about the situation in the Middle East and directly addressed Emmanuel Macron. Visibly moved, the young girl did not hide her fear of the conflict escalating and its possible consequences. “Can you stop the war, please, because you have spoken too much. I haven’t finished living and I don’t want there to be a war,” she implored the President. Two days later, he decided to respond to her, also in a voice message shared on Instagram. With this response, he primarily seeks to reassure the teenager, while addressing all those who have written to him on this subject. “I wanted to answer you. This is Emmanuel Macron. And at the same time, I wanted to respond to all those who sent me voice messages on Instagram. So, I understand very well and hear your concern, but I wanted to be very clear: you will not go to war at all. And you will continue to live, to take your exams, to learn, to go out, to live freely, to build your future,” he began by stating.

The President of the Republic also took the opportunity to remind of the context of the conflict and France’s position regarding this international situation. In his response, he emphasized that the country is not directly involved in the fighting and that the French army will not participate in this war. “We are not in combat and we will not engage in this war,” he explained, highlighting that France “is not part of this war.” Later in his message, the head of state further specified that France remains attentive to the security of its nationals in the region. He notably mentioned that “hundreds of thousands of our compatriots” live there and must be protected if the situation worsens. Before ending his voice message, he addressed a few reassuring words to young Fatima, concluding simply: “I wanted to reassure you.” Watch:
