The pillar of the French XV Regis Montagne and former Stade Toulousain player Lucas Tauzin were taken into custody on Saturday, April 11, due to their involvement in a violent brawl that resulted in one person being hospitalized. They were released without any charges being brought against them.

The newspaper Le Parisien revealed on Sunday, April 12, that the two ASM Clermont players Regis Montagne and Lucas Tauzin were taken into custody the day before. This followed events that occurred in the night from Friday, April 10 to Saturday, April 11.

Violence broke out in the center of Clermont, near Place de Jaude. According to our colleagues, the police services of the Information and Control Center (CIC) received a call on Friday around 11:30 pm. Tauzin, who played for Stade Toulousain between 2017 and 2024, and Montagne, a French international prop since 2025, were allegedly involved.

An unconscious man received first aid upon the arrival of the firefighters, who then transported him to the hospital. The Parisien, citing witnesses, claims that the two players were leaving a restaurant with their partners when the individual allegedly bothered them. One of the women was reportedly disturbed again and a fight ensued.

After reviewing the surveillance video, the two Clermont players were found to be without suspicion and were only defending themselves, as reported by the Parisien. They were released from custody on Saturday morning and are not expected to face any charges. ASM confirmed the identity of the two players but declined to comment on the situation.
