In 2025, 9,500 festival-goers were present during the festival. One cannot escape the theme “AI, ally or enemy of information?” Since the arrival of ChatGPT in 2022, artificial intelligence managing misinformation and videos has transformed our relationship with information. “The migratory issue, a mirror of a fractured society” will address immigration, a divisive topic. “Can we still believe in ecological transition?” will cover climate and biodiversity as discouragement grows.
Finally, the theme “Feminism, equality, #MeToo: time for backlash?” will be discussed. Nine years after the start of the #MeToo movement, anti-feminism is rising in the Western world, as well as the men’s rights movement, reflecting a weariness towards parity. Are some fights ultimately counterproductive? The debates will be led by journalists from “Le Monde,” “Nouvel Obs,” “Télérama,” and independents.
Besides these serious discussions, the play “Unruly Woman” about the Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, assassinated twenty years ago. The evening of Saturday will be dedicated to the festival’s 10th anniversary. It will be hosted by Charline Vanhoenacker, returning after her appearance in 2022, as revealed by Gilles Van Kote.
The journalist Ariane Chemin will also present a documentary she made with a documentarian about the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. Nearly 10,000 people are expected to attend this year along the Garonne River.
