Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty expressed the Ministry’s pride in its ongoing cooperation with the Egyptian Parliament and its various committees, emphasizing the Egyptian state’s importance of focus on the African continent as a fundamental pillar of its foreign policy.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister spoke during his meeting on Tuesday with Deputy Chairif El-Gebaly, President of the African Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, to discuss ways to enhance Egypt’s presence in Africa and integrate the efforts of the executive and legislative branches to serve national interests.
Abdelatty highlighted the importance of enhancing communication with African parliaments through parliamentary friendship groups, intensifying efforts to strengthen cooperation with African countries, particularly in economic cooperation, development, trade promotion, investments, and implementation of infrastructure, energy, and logistics projects to support regional integration and sustainable development.
He stressed the need to expand strategic partnerships with African countries by leveraging the momentum created by visits of businessmen and investors to African countries, and by strengthening the role of the private sector in supporting development efforts on the continent.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairif El-Gebaly emphasized the committee’s commitment to continue cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support Egyptian foreign policy priorities in Africa and enhance Egypt’s leading role on the continent.
