Moroccan international could become the most expensive Lion of the Atlas in history, surpassing Achraf Hakimi.
Transferred in the summer of 2021 to Paris Saint-Germain from Inter Milan for 68 million euros, Achraf Hakimi remains to this day the most expensive Moroccan player in history. A record he could lose during the next summer transfer window.
After a superb season with PSV Eindhoven (18 goals and 9 assists in 35 appearances), Ismael Saibari has attracted interest, especially from Premier League clubs. This could lead to a lucrative sale.
His coach in the Netherlands, Peter Bosz, has stated that he would not let go of his Moroccan international for less than 60 million euros. “How much should Ismael cost? If it were up to me, we wouldn’t let him go even for 60 million (euros). I truly believe that. We don’t just let players leave like that,” said the former Lyon coach as reported by Afrik Foot.
“They will have to pay a substantial amount”
“Especially Premier League clubs. So, if clubs from the Netherlands show interest, I imagine they will have to pay a substantial amount,” added the Dutch coach.
Under contract with PSV until June 2029, Ismael Saibari could potentially leave the Dutch league this summer for a hefty sum of money. It is worth noting that the 25-year-old striker is currently valued at 32 million euros by the specialized website Transfermarkt.
