At 37 years old, English international third-row Courtney Lawes (105 caps) will pack his bags after two years spent in Brive.

Brive will not be Courtney Lawes’ last club. The former captain of the England national team will join a Premiership club, the top English division. “I have had an experience in Brive that I will never forget, both athletically and personally,” he said in a statement. “I will invest myself fully until the end of the season to finish this adventure with CAB in the best possible way. My family and I have been very well received in Corrèze, and we will always have a Brive heart.”

Brive’s leaders, on their part, stated, “CAB would have liked Courtney Lawes to finish his career in Brive but understands his desire to seize the opportunity of a new challenge in his homeland and wishes him great success in this new adventure in England.” The club is very proud to have had one of the world rugby legends and one of the best third-rowers of his generation in its ranks.
