It’s official. Emmanuel Macron will indeed be in Lyon on April 7 for an international summit. The head of state, very busy with the war in the Middle East, will be in the city center at the prefecture in the 3rd arrondissement and at the Lyon Congress Center for the “One Planet Summit” dedicated to the approach of “One Health”, which takes into account the interdependence between human, animal, and environmental health.
Several foreign heads of state expected
Emmanuel Macron will preside over a day when other heads of state and government, as well as scientists, are expected. He is the first president of a country to officially announce his presence at this “high-level” summit.
At 11:30 a.m. next Tuesday, the French president is expected to welcome counterparts at the prefecture of Rhône, which will likely be surrounded by a massive security presence. He will then participate in a working meeting on global architecture reform and attend a working lunch, still at the prefecture.
After the prefecture, the Congress Center
The presidential convoy will then head to the Lyon Congress Center from 3 p.m. at the Cité internationale facing the Parc de la Tête d’Or. There, he will deliver the opening speech at the One Health Summit. He is also expected to attend other meetings focusing on governance and science, communicable and non-communicable diseases.
The event is set to conclude shortly before 7 p.m. next Tuesday.
