A scientific conference entitled “Pham Van Dong and Foreign Relations – Vietnamese Diplomacy” was presented by Thanh Long. More than 100 delegates participated in the workshop, including former officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Central Committee, representatives from various central committees, ministries, research institutes, ambassadors, senior officials, scientists, foreign affairs experts, and representatives from units under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Former members of the Central Committee, such as Nguyen Dy Nien, Nguyen Tien Nang, Tran Tam Giap, and Major General Pham Son Duong, attended the seminar to honor Pham Van Dong’s legacy on the 120th anniversary of his birth. The seminar aimed to delve into the notable aspects of Pham Van Dong’s foreign policy ideology and honor his qualities, ideology, and legacy in the field.

Nguyen Manh Cuong, a member of the Central Committee of the Party, delivered the opening speech at the seminar, highlighting Pham Van Dong’s exceptional qualities and principles in diplomacy. Participants emphasized his strategic leadership in combining military, political, and diplomatic efforts for Vietnam’s resistance victories. Pham Van Dong was revered for his diplomatic talents and remarkable contributions to the country’s revolutionary cause.

The seminar also focused on Pham Van Dong’s efforts in developing the diplomatic sector and grooming a team of diplomats. His emphasis on human-centric principles and continuous training for diplomats in various disciplines was noted. Pham Van Dong was recognized for his exceptional charisma, which inspired generations of diplomats.

The closing speech was delivered by Nguyen Manh Cuong, who stressed Pham Van Dong’s enduring legacy and his significant role in shaping Vietnam’s diplomatic policies. Lessons from Pham Van Dong’s revolutionary life continue to offer valuable guidance for implementing the Party’s foreign policy directives and building a modern, comprehensive, and professional diplomatic sector.
