During the conference “Enterprises contributing to double-digit growth” on March 27, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the need for a marked transition to a growth model based on science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, considering it a strategic choice to achieve rapid and sustainable development goals.
Drawing on practical experience, Ms. Thai Huong, President of the TH Group, stated that, amid various fluctuations such as epidemics, supply chain disruptions, or geopolitical conflicts, the consistent application of science and technology and modern management has allowed the company to maintain strong growth momentum.
“The TH Group has consistently maintained double-digit growth, reaching 17% last year and targeting a growth of 20.9% for 2026,” said Ms. Huong, highlighting the importance of science and technology, green economy, and circular economy in enhancing the efficiency of the high-risk agricultural sector.
The company’s practices demonstrate clear effectiveness: while the share of locally produced fresh milk was only about 8% in 2008, it now reaches nearly 60%. In addition to national development, the company has also expanded its investments internationally, from Russia to Australia, and continues to seek opportunities in Indonesia.
Therefore, Ms. Huong suggested the need to develop mechanisms and policies for each sector and stage to form “leading” companies that dominate the market, while strongly promoting school nutrition policies related to sustainable development.
In the logistics sector, Mr. Le Anh Son, General Director of the Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC), stated that the company is accelerating its digital transformation to drive exceptional growth.
As a result, the port system is evolving into a “smart port” model aimed at complete automation. The application of technologies helps streamline procedures, reduce handling and storage costs, thereby contributing to a decrease in logistics costs for the economy.
“We are integrating AI and automation into our port operations and maritime transport management systems to minimize costs,” said Mr. Son.
Despite the significant rise in fuel prices, companies are still aiming for double-digit growth while proposing to increase investments in inland waterway and railway infrastructure to optimize transport costs – a key factor in strengthening national competitiveness.
Representing the textile and garment industry, Ms. Ninh Thi Ty, Chairwoman of the Board of Ho Guom Group Joint Stock Company, declared that the development orientation based on science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation is “the right direction” and an essential condition for companies to strengthen their position in the global value chain.
The technological challenge is not limited to the industry; it also arises in agriculture. According to Ms. Ty, companies still face difficulties in proactively securing plant varieties, despite years of collaboration with scientists.
“We recommend policies to encourage research and development of new high-yield and high-value crops,” emphasized Ms. Ty, while proposing tax incentives for technological investment, increased credit support, and further simplification of administrative procedures.
From the perspective of digital technologies, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT’s Board of Directors, emphasized that artificial intelligence is becoming a fundamental pillar of growth.
According to Mr. Binh, Vietnam must quickly transition to an “AI-focused” model – where all activities are supported by AI – to move towards an “AI-native” model with standardized data processed from the start.
“We have not really reached the stage of AI primacy yet, while the world has evolved very quickly,” warned Mr. Binh, highlighting the risk of dependence on foreign platforms, which could affect data sovereignty and technological sovereignty.
Furthermore, expanding into international markets is considered an essential condition for maintaining strong growth. Vietnamese companies must engage more in global value chains and take advantage of opportunities offered by innovation.
In his opening speech at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that, in the transition to a growth model based on science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, companies are the engine and driving force of growth; they must also be pioneers in technology application, enhancing competitiveness, and expanding on a global scale.
“When companies grow, the country grows,” emphasized the Prime Minister, stating that the government will continue to improve institutions and remove obstacles to create the most favorable conditions for business prosperity in this new era.
