BYD continues to evolve its range with targeted improvements on the BYD Seal 06 GT and BYD Seal 06 DM-i Break. New generation battery, ultra-fast charging, and enhanced onboard technologies: the brand is excelling on all fronts.

BYD will further enhance two existing models: Seal 06 GT and Seal 06 DM-i Break. The former, being electric, will benefit from a new battery and improved charging, while the latter, hybrid, sees an increase in autonomy and enriched equipment. Here’s what you need to know.

In a nutshell, BYD announces a significant update on its Seal 06 GT (electric) and Seal 06 DM-i Break (hybrid) models from April 2. The Seal 06 GT notably features a new Blade 2.0 battery allowing ultra-fast charging, while the Seal 06 DM-i displays increased electric autonomy. Both models gain in technological equipment, especially with the introduction of LiDAR for autonomous driving “God’s Eye.” Design and ergonomics improvements complement this upgrade, confirming BYD’s intention to compete with established players in the automotive sector.

The BYD Seal 06 GT will receive the new Blade 2.0 battery. This battery is compatible with BYD’s “Flash Charging” fast charge. Thanks to this technology, it can charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. This is very close to the refueling time of a fuel-based vehicle, and even in very cold conditions, up to -30°C, the charging time only increases by 3 minutes compared to normal temperatures.

On the equipment side, there is the option of a LiDAR that allows for the arrival of autonomous driving “God’s Eye.” The range also adds new colors, including Violet Aurore and Rouge Rose Portia, which will perfectly match the new black rims and red brake calipers.

In the interior, a redesigned central console with modernized buttons and a new gear lever on the steering wheel is noticeable. Finally, single-motor powertrains range from 268 to 322 horsepower.

At the same time, the Seal 06 DM-i, the hybrid model, sees its electric autonomy improved, now reaching 200 km in WLTC cycle. LiDAR is available as an option, enabling autonomous driving “God’s Eye.” In terms of equipment, a head-up display (HUD) and a fatigue monitoring system make their appearance. The steering wheel design has been redesigned, and the central console buttons have been improved for better ergonomics. The infotainment system also features a new interface.

The Seal 06 DM-i Break will come standard with the BYD DiSus-C suspension with pre-detection function to improve driving comfort.

Key takeaways include BYD updating its Seal 06 GT (electric) and Seal 06 DM-i Break (hybrid) models from April 2; the Seal 06 GT receives the Blade 2.0 battery and ultra-fast charging, reducing waiting times significantly; the Seal 06 DM-i Break now boasts 200 km of WLTC electric autonomy; new technological equipment is onboard: LiDAR, autonomous driving “God’s Eye,” HUD, fatigue monitoring, advanced suspension. Aesthetic and ergonomic enhancements feature new colors, black rims, and a redesigned central console. The brand strengthens its positioning in innovation and competitiveness against the competition.
