On Saturday, March 28, 2026, an important charitable and artistic event called Sidragtion will take place for the first time in Rouen. The event combines fundraising for Sidaction with the art of drag, and will feature a maraud in the city center led by two local drag queens.
From 2 pm to 5 pm, Tresha Dollaj and Délice D’orge J will wander around Rouen collecting donations for HIV research and showcasing their drag art on the streets. They aim to raise awareness about drag as an art form, often misunderstood by society.
Sidragtion was founded in Paris 10 years ago by three drag artists and has since expanded to multiple cities, including Lille in 2019 and reaching 14 cities in 2021. Last year, over 500 artists organized marauds in 18 French cities, raising 78,000 euros, totaling over 335,000 euros collected since the event’s inception.
The duo had planned a follow-up evening event after the maraud, but it had to be canceled. However, they will entertain the streets with music and distribute condoms and red ribbons (symbol of Sidaction). The route will loop around various landmarks in Rouen.
The event has no specific fundraising goal, aiming instead to gauge the response in Rouen. The drag queens had recruited volunteers for security and logistics and had hoped to provide prevention and testing services, but this is not feasible without a fixed location.
Despite challenges, Tresha Dollaj and Délice D’orge J are determined to make a positive impact in Rouen. So, if you encounter them during their maraud, you’ll have the opportunity to support a good cause. Last year, Sidaction received promises of over 3,909,357 euros in donations.
In addition, the organizers recommend avoiding high heels for safety reasons and urge residents to show support for their cause.
