According to the provincial policy for the development of the collective economy, a cooperative has been created, bringing together many members passionate about agriculture and forestry from a high-tech perspective.
The cooperative is linked to businesses, with its main products being bamboo shoots and sandalwood (a rare and valuable tree from which leaves, essential oils, and wood are harvested).
As a result, the unit is focusing on building nurseries, expanding raw material sourcing areas, investing in advanced processing plants and lines, and improving the competitiveness of its products in the market.
Currently, the Ngoc Thien high-tech agricultural and forestry production cooperative owns about 300 hectares of bamboo shoots; it initially started collaborating with SmartGap Holding Joint Stock Company (Hanoi) to cultivate and plant sandalwood trees in Bac Ninh province and several other provinces and cities in the country.
According to the provincial Union of Cooperatives, the province currently has 2,113 cooperatives, of which 68.76% are in agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors; the rest are non-agricultural. The creation of new multi-sectoral cooperatives in agriculture and forestry, focused on high technologies, aligns with the province’s development strategy and confirms the role of the collective economy in building production and consumption chains. This contributes to increasing the population’s income, promoting local socio-economic development, and achieving sustainable exports.
