Since Friday, March 20, a man has been actively sought. Cedric Prizzon’s ex-wife, their 13-year-old son, located in Aveyron but also his current partner and their two-year-old child have disappeared. The Montpellier criminal unit is now handling the investigation. Who is Cedric Prizzon, this former rugby player and police officer, the main suspect in this case?

“I have received messages from fathers who haven’t seen their child in a year and a half. It’s a disgrace. If necessary, I will cause chaos at a national level.” Cedric Prizzon was sentenced to six months of suspended prison in 2020 for domestic violence against his former partner, then in 2021 for failure to present a child and harassment of an ex-partner. The 42-year-old former police officer has turned social media into a platform for justice. Since this weekend, he is actively sought.

On Friday morning, March 20, 2026 our colleagues from Centre-Presse Aveyron reveled the case. Cedric Prizzon’s ex-partner living in the small town of Vailhourles (Aveyron) has not been heard from. His car was found parked near a lake in the neighboring town of Parisot. Their 13-year-old son was absent from school on Friday. Cedric Prizzon’s current partner and their young child are also missing.

The Toulouse research department is conducting the investigation, supported by the Aveyron gendarmerie group. In a statement released on Monday, March 23, the Rodez prosecutor’s office declared to be “disqualified in favor of the Montpellier public prosecutor’s office, the criminal hub of the investigation.” Reports have been made beyond Aveyron and towards neighboring countries such as Spain where this former police officer had once fled with his son.

He was a man with not much history and relatively unknown. An almost ordinary story of a couple’s dispute will bring this former police officer out of anonymity. In 2020, a violent dispute erupted at the marital home with knives. In 2021, the justice system sentenced both partners to six months of suspended prison. Their 8-year-old son’s custody alternated between them weekly. Cedric Prizzon could not bear the situation, believing his son was in danger.

He then decides to sneak off to Spain with his son. The fugitive lasted two months and according to Centre-Presse, his current partner eventually disclosed the location after an argument. His child custody was taken away. Since then, he has been active on social media, denouncing what he sees as the new location of justice. Videos where he seeks to expose “a corrupted justice” are posted across his social media channels and groups like “Angry Dads”. He blames his son’s mother and her family, saying “my son is in danger at the hands of a psychopathic woman and her psychopathic family.”

From November 2021 to January 2023, he went silent on social media. But at the beginning of 2023, he started posting almost daily updates on Facebook about his personal situation and other cases across France. His YouTube channel was updated daily. An obsessive trend emerged where he asked his followers to share, “for my son.”

While his tone on social media may sometimes be aggressive, this former police officer seems to understand the judicial system well. He pursued legal actions and shared messages in an attempt to regain custody of his child. He also tracked down his ex-partner and her family, accusing her of having multiple affairs and attempting to murder him with a knife. Over time, his posts multiplied, with videos of him discussing his situation and pointing fingers at a “corrupted justice.” He created a YouTube channel titled, “in my name because I have nothing to hide.” However, the channel has since been deleted, and the videos are no longer available.

Social media is not his only platform for defense. He resorted to other actions like a hunger strike outside the Rodez court and participated in several demonstrations with other fathers struggling for custody rights in Villefranche-de-Rouergue three years ago.

He portrays himself as a victim and criticizes the justice system, saying “the shame of the French justice is being ignored,” as stated on his YouTube channel on March 23, 2023, or “criminal protected by the family” regarding his son’s mother.

Before making headlines in the legal world, Cedric Prizzon was also known as a rugby player. This robust six-foot-tall, 95kg man played for the Loups de Villefranche-de-Rouergue in 2011, where he met the mother of Elio, residing in Vailhourles (Aveyron).

Originally from the southwest, this former police officer from the Paris region represented TO XIII (runner-up in the French Elite championship in 2006). He also played for the French team in junior, hope, under-21, and A categories.

Did a father’s love for his son lead him to commit unforgivable acts? Investigators are exploring all possibilities and actively seeking the 42-year-old former rugby player, his now adolescent son, his mother, as well as his partner and the child they had together.
