With the development of the digital economy, digital assets are becoming an increasingly important component of the global economy, particularly assets created using Blockchain technology, as well as intellectual property, digital content, and creative data.

According to a report from TRM Labs, in 2025, attacks, exploits, and copyright violations in the digital asset sector resulted in losses of around $2.87 billion, an increase of over 30% compared to the $2.2 billion in 2024, indicating that security risks in the blockchain ecosystem continue to rise.

In this context, CTDA was established to promote research and application of technologies in copyright protection, digital asset management, and security enhancement in the digital environment, contributing to the development of a transparent and sustainable digital asset ecosystem in Vietnam.

“The surge in digital assets presents an urgent challenge in terms of evaluation, management, and legal protection, which is also the purpose of CTDA. The Institute was founded with the main objective of scientific research and technological development, focusing on key activities such as consultation, technology dissemination, and workshops to enhance the professional skills of the community,” said Mr. Nguyen Manh Quy, director of CTDA.

The event also saw the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between CTDA, HBA, and MEXC Ventures to promote research, technology application, and development of the digital asset ecosystem in Vietnam. Through this collaboration, the parties will jointly implement research, training programs, and knowledge sharing in the field of digital assets.

“CTDA is not just a research institute, but also an essential link in the development of the digital asset ecosystem in Vietnam. If blockchain is the trust infrastructure, then copyright and digital assets represent the value. Therefore, CTDA will act as a bridge between these two elements so that Vietnam can not only participate but also lead the digital asset market era,” said Mr. Nguyen The Vinh, president of the Blockchain Association of Ho Chi Minh City.
