With its Propulse program, the Agency for Innovation in Transportation supports promising projects each year that can transform mobility. The 2026 edition highlights several particularly ambitious innovations.

In February, several innovative start-ups linked to decarbonizing transportation, service quality, and multimodality were rewarded by the Agency for Innovation in Transportation. Among the 21 winners of the 2026 promotion, five have caught our attention and could transform how we move in society.

AI to transform road transport

The start-up Konboi offers an original approach to long-distance road transport with its project “Marcel Double Crew.” Their system combines human drivers and artificial intelligence to assist driving and optimize travel times. The goal is to improve safety and address the growing shortage of drivers.

Micro-cars that fit together in the city

With “Arthur Kiwee,” the company Metacar Mobility Systems envisions electric micro-vehicles capable of interlocking like supermarket carts. This concept could revolutionize urban car-sharing by significantly reducing parking needs.

Origami-inspired aerodynamics

The “Aerigami” project developed by Diagonale Engineering relies on adaptive aerodynamic structures for heavy vehicles. Inspired by origami, the technology adjusts according to traffic conditions to reduce air resistance and fuel consumption.

Measuring the carbon footprint of aviation

From the National Center for Space Studies, the start-up Waltr is developing a precise tracking tool for aviation emissions. Their system would allow airports and authorities to better measure and manage their environmental impact.

Sustainable fuel for aviation

Finally, Bio in Move is working on “Vinosaf,” a sustainable aviation fuel produced from agricultural and viticultural residues. A promising avenue for decarbonizing a sector where technological alternatives remain limited. These projects illustrate the diversity of innovations supported by Propulse, the Agency for Innovation in Transportation’s program: artificial intelligence, new urban vehicles, energy optimization, and sustainable fuels.
