The private Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) announced yesterday that its Agricultural Sciences discipline has entered the top 1 percent globally, according to Essential Science Indicators (ESI) data released by Clarivate, a global information services company. ESI is a tool for statistical analysis of scientific research based on the Web of Science Core Collection, covering 22 disciplines and over 12,000 academic journals worldwide.
MUST has ten other disciplines already ranked, including Engineering, Computer Science, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Social Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Molecular Biology & Genetics, Biology & Biochemistry, Chemistry, Materials Science, and Environment/Ecology. This achievement demonstrates MUST’s increasing recognition in agricultural research.
The statement also noted that the interdisciplinary development of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Pharmacy, Environmental Science, and other disciplines has contributed to Agricultural Sciences entering the top 1 percent in ESI rankings.
