Organized as part of the Franco-German Fortnight in Occitania, this morning led by Catherine Alix-Panabières, a professor at the Montpellier University Hospital, will bring together French and German speakers at the Domaine de Verchant to exchange views on major health and innovation issues.
On Monday, April 13th, the Domaine de Verchant will host a Franco-German meeting focused on two themes: the advances of liquid biopsy in cancer management and the role of women in leadership in medical research.
Internationally recognized, Catherine Alix-Panabières is a specialist in circulating tumor cells and liquid biopsy. She heads the Human Rare Circulating Cells and Liquid Biopsy Laboratory (LCCRH) and focuses on detectable tumor biomarkers in blood. Her research opens up major prospects for a more personalized, early, and targeted medicine in oncology.
A researcher in the spotlight
The first round table will discuss the potential to enhance cancer management through a simple blood draw, using the advances in liquid biopsy and personalized medicine. The second will explore the role of women in leadership in medical research, bringing together experiences from France and Germany.
Beyond its scientific dimension, this meeting will highlight the journey and commitment of a researcher who is promoting Montpellier beyond the region. It will also provide an opportunity, in a Franco-German context, to exchange views and experiences.
Program
The day will begin with a coffee reception from 8:30 am to 9:00 am, followed by the first round table from 9:15 am to 10:40 am, and the second from 10:55 am to 12:10 pm. A networking lunch will continue the discussions from 12:10 pm to 1:40 pm, before a press conference scheduled from 1:45 pm to 2:30 pm.
