Nancy L. Lewis, MD, MBS, FACP, appointed Chief Scientific Officer of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)

Nancy L. Lewis, MD, MBS, FACP, has been selected as the new Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). Dr. Lewis, a seasoned biomedical researcher specializing in clinical trials for solid tumors and malignant hematopathies, brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles at Novartis Pharmaceuticals and prestigious cancer centers. She holds degrees from Penn State University, Temple University School of Medicine, and Rutgers University. Dr. Lewis’s expertise will lead the NCCN’s efforts to advance oncology research and clinical programs globally.

“I am thrilled to join the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and contribute to its extraordinary legacy of progress in high-quality cancer care,” said Dr. Lewis. Her appointment follows Mr. Denlinger’s tenure as General Manager of the organization. Dr. Lewis will assume her new role in May 2026.

The NCCN is a nonprofit alliance of leading cancer centers dedicated to patient care, research, and education. Their mission is to define and promote quality, efficiency, equity, and accessibility in cancer care and prevention. NCCN Guidelines provide evidence-based recommendations for cancer treatment, prevention, and support services, setting the standard for clinical guidance and cancer management policy.
