On April 4th, representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training announced the decision to recognize Vien Dong College as a high-quality vocational training institution. This marks a significant milestone for professional training as it is the first time a private institution has received this title through the official recognition process of the Ministry.
According to the decision approving the list of higher education institutions to be evaluated and recognized as excellent institutions by 2025, ten institutions nationwide meet the criteria. Among them, Vien Dong College is the only private institution to receive this distinction.
During the award ceremony, Professor Le Quan emphasized the need for comprehensive reform in vocational training due to the country’s industrialization, modernization, and international integration requirements. The focus is on improving training quality, modernizing infrastructure, increasing autonomy, strengthening management capacities, and promoting digital transformation throughout the system.
According to Ministry officials, quality vocational institutions not only need to meet standards but also play a leading role in innovation. These institutions will pioneer governance model reforms, develop advanced training programs, and apply modern teaching methods to enhance overall vocational education quality.
Professor Le Quan highlighted the central role of building and developing quality vocational institutions in training highly skilled human resources to meet socio-economic development and international integration demands.
In line with decision 2239/QD-TTg, the goal is to develop vocational institutions to match regional standards in advanced countries, align with international norms, and contribute to nurturing highly skilled human resources. The 2025 Vocational Education Law also emphasizes the need to standardize and modernize training institutions, prioritizing investment in quality higher education institutions located in key economic hubs.
