The new facility, covering an area of 704 m² over three levels, will accommodate 36 offices, two meeting rooms, a break room, and three spaces dedicated to partners. A necessary project to bring together agents currently spread across multiple sites between Montbron and La Rochefoucauld and improve work organization. The total cost of the operation amounts to 2.3 million euros.

Thermal Inertia: This necessary and innovative project in its construction relies on a more ecological technique: wood and straw. External walls, floors, interior walls, and framework are being constructed using this method, currently underway and at the heart of discussions during the construction meeting on April 2.

The contract for this work is entrusted to the company L’Arbre construction, based in Rouzède. The CEO, Emmanuel Augagneur, explains the process: “The panels are manufactured in the workshop and then assembled on-site. Once the building is weatherproof, they will be filled with locally sourced straw, injected under pressure.” The insulation is based on a 22-centimeter space between the walls. The company has six employees working on this site for a duration of six months. The floors, on the other hand, are made of solid cross-laminated timber, self-supporting, and 18 centimeters thick.

The meeting, attended notably by architect François Poirier-Bordage, also allowed for an update on the progress of the works. The building is centered around a central concrete core, now almost complete. This core ensures the stability of the whole and provides significant thermal inertia. It also houses the staircases and the elevator.

In total, twelve companies are involved, with eleven based in Charente. The only external company responsible for the elevator is located in Bordeaux. Barring any unforeseen circumstances or weather anomalies, the roof installation is expected to be completed by the end of April. This step will notably allow the reopening of Vieilles-Écoles Street, currently affected by the construction.
