The Xiaomi Vision GT is a two-door concept car that was officially unveiled at the MWC in Barcelona, Spain. This launch is seen as a strategic initiative by Xiaomi Auto to assert its position in the high-performance car segment and materialize its ambition to expand beyond the Chinese market.

One of the highlights of the event was Xiaomi’s announcement of a deep partnership with Polyphony Digital. Specifically, the Vision Gran Turismo will make its appearance in the famous racing simulation game Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5 (PS5), allowing players worldwide to experience virtual driving before the real model is released.

This connection began last June when Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of the Gran Turismo game series, had the opportunity to discover Xiaomi vehicles. Previously, the brand’s SU7 Ultra model had already made a mark by becoming the first Chinese brand car to feature in this popular game series.

Designed under the leadership of chief designer Li Tianyuan, the Xiaomi Vision GT adheres rigorously to a minimalist and functionally optimized philosophy. The car’s look is striking, with features like its imposing front splitter, T-shaped headlights, and elegant butterfly doors. Other details, such as widened wheel arches, central wing, aggressive rear diffuser, and distinctive C-shaped rear lights, characteristic of Xiaomi’s stylistic language, give it a futuristic appearance.

Inside, the Xiaomi Vision GT exudes a futuristic impression with a minimalist and technologically advanced design. It features a butterfly-shaped steering wheel inspired by professional race cars, as well as a panoramic screen providing intuitive information to the driver. The seating system, designed like a cocoon, promises optimal comfort and excellent body support even in demanding driving conditions.

The presentation of the concept car in Barcelona was not just a technological demonstration but also part of the group’s long-term strategy. CEO Lei Jun had previously announced that Xiaomi Auto aims to establish itself officially in foreign markets by 2027. To prepare for this significant step, Xiaomi’s international division has strengthened its teams abroad, particularly in market studies, project management, and after-sales engineering, especially for electric vehicles.

Moreover, Xiaomi has also announced ambitious plans to expand its distribution network. In the UK, the company plans to open 150 stores within four years. Globally, it aims to create 10,000 Xiaomi Home stores in five years, laying the groundwork for efficient distribution and technical support for its future electric vehicle ranges.
