Mihai Miron is the President and co-founder, along with Cindy Lemaistre, Gilles Gaudin, and Miguel Rubio Roy, of the Grenoble-based startup Golana Computing. Established in 2023 from the CNRS, the company is developing a technology – a device with sensors combined with a software solution based on magnetic neurons and artificial intelligence – designed for the industrial sector.
“Our first targeted deployments aim for this year,” states Mihai Miron. Thanks to its technology, the company provides detailed and understandable information on signal anomalies in one or more industrial machines, making human decision-making on necessary actions easier. Golana Computing aims to be an alternative to existing solutions that usually only trigger automatic simple light signals, requiring subsequent human verification and analysis, often tedious.
“Our system is agnostic,” adds Cindy Lemaistre. “It can be deployed on all equipment in a factory, allowing us to target a wide range of clients. This sets us apart from competing startups that focus on specific types of equipment, often rotary machines.”
Currently, the company has seven industrial clients in Romania, France, and Norway, with discussions ongoing with numerous companies in manufacturing, biotech, energy, and defense industries.
Golana Computing, comprising five individuals, plans to hire four or five additional staff by the end of the year. 2026 is expected to be the year of its first revenue, targeting €200,000. By the end of 2026, the company plans to raise its first funding round, aiming for €1 million.
This funding will complement grants received from the European Innovation Council (EIC). Golana Computing was a winner of the EIC Transition call in 2023, receiving a €2.5 million grant. Additionally, at the beginning of 2026, they won the EIC Accelerator call, granting them another €2.5 million and capital contribution.
The principle: the European Innovation Council commits to funding one euro for every euro raised over the next three years. “They have budgeted eight million euros, meaning they are ready to participate up to that maximum amount,” specifies Mihai Miron.
