JAKARTA – Another car manufacturer is revising its model to meet the high demand from Chinese consumers. BMW has released images of the BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase produced in China, and it will debut at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show next month.

According to Carnewschina, on Monday, March 30, the SUV has been specially developed for the Chinese market and is expected to be launched in the first half of 2026.

The new iX3 Long Wheelbase model largely retains the exterior design of its foreign version, with subtle enhancements. Key visual elements include the typical “Digital Angel Wing” daytime running lights and the attention-grabbing “3D Grille.”

One improvement for the Chinese market is the elongation of the distance between elements, which now reaches 3,005 mm. For comparison, the foreign model has a length of 4,780 mm, a width of 1,895 mm, a height of 1,635 mm, and a distance between elements of 2,895 mm.

On the back, the vehicle retains horizontal L-shaped taillights. Interestingly, the emblem now displays “Brilliance BMW” and “iX350L” indicating local production and its specific variant.

The new central rear camera has been integrated into the segmented roof spoiler, hinting at advanced driving assistance capabilities. In fact, the new iX3 Long Wheelbase will offer complete Momenta driving navigation functions tailored to local highway and urban scenarios.

In terms of the interior, the new iX3 Long Wheelbase adopts BMW’s latest design philosophy, combining a panoramic sunroof with integrated sunshades. BMW has partnered with Alibaba to develop personalized Large Language Model (LLM) technology. This system will integrate AI DeepSeek large language model capabilities and AI agents in the cockpit, along with HarmonyOS ecosystem support and Huawei HiCar digital services.

Under the hood, the new iX3 Long Wheelbase is powered by BMW’s sixth-generation eDrive electric propulsion technology, built on the 800V architecture. The car has a 108 kWh battery, combined with a front asynchronous motor and a rear synchronous motor. This powerful configuration generates a maximum power of 345 kW (463 hp) and a maximum torque of 645 Nm, allowing this SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

In terms of range, the vehicle offers a pure electric WLTP range exceeding 900 km, with an official energy consumption rate of 15.1 kWh/100 km. The fast charging capability allows for recharging up to 427 km in just 10 minutes.
