A meteor hitting the ground in the Moroccan desert. A muscular hero fighting against flying machines like in a martial arts movie. A woman whose pink lips swell until they burst, saying “I’m allergic to botox”. Roller coasters and golden dinosaurs breathing fire… On his computer screen, photographer Philippe Shangti showed us exclusive excerpts from his upcoming feature film. “Remember the Future: 2320” will, according to him, be the first film entirely created with artificial intelligence. It will be screened at the Grand Rex in Paris on May 7th.

Until now, there have been short films made exclusively with AI. Films whose screenplay was written with this technology. Or a documentary about AI… produced with AI. The first fully AI-generated animated feature film is currently in production. But “Remember the Future: 2320” is the first film over 40 minutes long, not animated, created “from start to finish” with artificial intelligence. “I imagined the screenplay with the help of AI, then the images, videos, and music were generated with AI, and characters were created with AI,” details Philippe Shangti.
