For the 19th day of Regional 1, AFL will travel to Lunel on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

The unbeaten streak of Avenir Foot Lozère came to an end last Sunday with a loss against Atlas Paillade (0-4). Despite not having lost in five matches, the Mendois were defeated by a stronger opponent. They will now need to bounce back this Saturday, March 28, by visiting Lunel, a strong team in this Regional 1 group.

Currently third in the championship, the Hérault team has 33 points, trailing the leader Atlas Paillade by twelve points. While promotion to National 3 may no longer be on the table, they aim to finish at least on the podium and possibly snatch the second place from Grau-du-Roi. They have shown inconsistency in 2026, with three wins, two draws, and four losses. They managed to hold Atlas Paillade to a draw (1-1) but also suffered a defeat against Narbonne (1-2), a lower-ranked team. However, they are coming off a victory last weekend against Vauvert (0-2) and will look to build on that success.

Remembering the first leg match, AFL will regain some key players after the loss to Atlas. Diatta, who was suspended, will rejoin the squad, along with Corentin Frazzoni, who was absent last week. Despite the defeat, there were positive aspects, such as a quality first half.

More importantly, the five-game unbeaten run reflects the current positive momentum of the Lozère team. To approach the upcoming match with confidence, Nabil Zanina’s players can draw inspiration from the first encounter. They previously defeated Lunel 1-0. Still fighting to avoid relegation, a win in Lunel would help them bounce back from last week’s defeat and maintain a safe distance from the relegation zone. Currently 7th with 22 points, the Mendois hold a five-point advantage over Narbonne in 13th place.
