Several Biterrois teams were on the field this weekend of March 21st and 22nd. Overview.
Football: ASB’s big move in Regional 1
With their backs against the wall after a couple of tough weeks, ASB’s footballers made a huge move in the race for survival. Victorious (0-1) on USS Aigues-Mortes’ turf, Hugo Munoz and his players climb to twelfth place in R1. A breath of fresh air before hosting Grau-du-Roi’s armada later in the week.
Table Tennis: Béziers scores a draw
Two weeks after being revived by a victory against TOAC, Béziers Table Tennis brought back a draw from their trip to Foix (7-7). Currently sixth in their group, the Biterrois table tennis players will try to get back to winning ways on April 11th, when they host Auch.
Basketball: Some regrets for ASCBB
Travelling to Garons, ASCBB’s first male team was defeated on the third matchday of the championship’s second phase (79-72). A frustrating scenario was also experienced by the women’s team, who were narrowly beaten by CTC Elan Aveyron (66-63). On a positive note, the male reserve team secured a fine victory on Montpellier’s court (54-60).
Volleyball: Precious success for Béziers Angels
The weekend had two faces for Béziers Angels’ training center. While the National team fell in the derby against Agde (3-1), the other two senior teams shone away from home. The National 2 team triumphed in Mandelieu (1-3), while the Regional 1 team clinched a great victory in a highly anticipated clash against Montpellier’s ASBAM (2-3).
Handball: Important victory for ASCBH seniors
A pivotal match towards the end of the season. Facing Vénèze, a direct competitor at the top of the table, ASCBH’s handball players secured a close victory (35-33). This win allows them to stay in contention for a podium finish in their group, before a challenging away game against the leaders in about ten days.
Cycling: Several podiums for VCCB’s youth
VCCB’s colors shone brightly last weekend. In Monaco, Ella Turries Lainault (2nd in U9), Stanislas Poder (3rd in U9), and Melina Caccia (2nd in U13) finished on the podium in their categories. Meanwhile, in Castres, Maxence Gros (U9) and Léandre Soria (U13) secured two impressive seventh-place finishes in the Trophée d’Occitanie’s opening race.
