The GF38 announced on Monday, March 23 that they are parting ways with their coach Franck Rizzetto. The recent results in Ligue 2 have not been impressive, with Grenoble winning only one match in 2026.
Franck Rizzetto is no longer the coach of GF38. The coach, who arrived in Isère just over a year ago, has been removed after the poor results in recent weeks in Ligue 2.
Only one victory in 2026
“The Grenoble Foot 38 officially announces today the withdrawal of Mr. Franck Rizzetto from the first team bench. The current sports results, too far from the club’s objectives, require us, by mutual agreement, despite our coach’s professionalism, to evolve our technical staff. Starting from the training session of Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the first team will be under the responsibility of Mr. Frédéric Gueguen, assisted by the current staff,” the club explained in a statement released on Monday evening.
The coach pays the price for the poor results of recent weeks. In 2026, Grenoble has won only one of its eleven matches played (with four defeats and six draws). Last Friday, GF lost to Laval even though they were leading just minutes before the end. In 13th place in Ligue 2, Grenoble will have to make an effort to secure their place. GF38 will face Clermont after the international break.
