On their momentum, the Saint-Quentinois got off to a good start in the second set (8-4) with three consecutive winning blocks. Determined and focused, the team from Aisne widened the gap (14-8). Saint-Jean-d’Illac, who made some changes, reacted well, before equalizing (16-16). But towards the end of the set, SQV showed more strength and pulled ahead (25-18).
“Lack of aggressiveness”
Once again, a good start in the third set (4-0), SQV continued its dominance and the lead increased (13-4). There was a reaction from the visitors (16-12), but the home team managed to step it up to win three sets to zero. This victory in style allows Saint-Quentin to strengthen its third place in the rankings and now have a five-point lead over Saint-Jean-d’Illac.
“We lacked aggressiveness in too many important areas of volleyball, especially in service, block, and defense. Saint-Quentin was very good in reception and the setter was able to distribute as he pleased. We struggled to make our presence felt in the match. Saint-Quentin’s superiority is normal,” reacted Romain Sellier, the coach from Bordeaux.
