The FC Barcelona won their fourth Women’s Champions League title in history by defeating Lyonnes OL Lyon 4-0 in Oslo on Saturday, May 23. Led by goals from Ewa Pajor and Salma Paralluelo, the Catalans denied Lyon their ninth title in the competition. This victory comes two years after Barcelona beat Lyon in the final.
After a balanced first half, Barcelona took control of the game. Ewa Pajor scored in the 55th minute, followed by another goal in the 69th minute. Lyon had opportunities but couldn’t convert them. Salma Paralluelo scored a spectacular goal in the 90th minute, sealing the victory with another goal in injury time.
Barcelona’s quadruple triumph in the Liga, Copa de la Reina, and Supercopa de España marks a historic achievement. Lyon will now aim to end their season on a positive note in the First League final against Paris FC on Friday, May 30 at 9:00 PM.
