In a constant effort to improve the recovery conditions of its players, the Sporting Club de Toulon has equipped itself with hot and cold baths developed by Cryotank Sport. Installed during summer preparation, these facilities are now an integral part of the daily routine of the group. Used after each training session, these baths help to promote optimal recovery between efforts. The protocol in place is based on alternating between hot and cold, with durations and passages determined by the staff.
Yoan Bianciotto, physical preparer, explains: “The cold bath helps reduce inflammation, limit muscle pain, and accelerate recovery. The hot bath, on the other hand, promotes relaxation, improves blood circulation, and contributes to better overall recovery. The alternation of the two is particularly interesting, especially during periods of intense effort.”
Beyond comfort, these methods meet a performance challenge. Insufficient recovery can lead to a decrease in performance, an accumulation of fatigue, and an increased risk of injury. Integrating these baths into the club’s program allows for better support of the players in the repetition of efforts.
Developed by a family-based company in Bordeaux, Cryotank Sport offers tailored solutions for clubs. Its founder, Mathieu Peluchon, a former professional rugby player, designed these pools to meet the demands of high-level sports: robustness, hygiene, and constant temperature maintenance through a thermoregulation and filtration system.
From Cryotank Sport’s perspective: “We wanted to offer a solution adapted to clubs, without installation constraints, with equipment designed for intensive and daily use. Today, we equip more than 200 clubs and support the development of structures that want to professionalize.”
The alternation between hot and cold baths notably creates a natural draining effect, similar to a recovery massage, particularly sought after in high-level sports.
With these installations, the Sporting Club de Toulon continues to develop its performance environment, offering its players tools adapted to the demands of modern football.
